Handmade espadrille manufacturing process
Step five: Rubber on sole.
Our jute soles are vulcanized with rubber to make them more resistant to wear and moisture. The sole rubber is cut and placed in molds: first the rubber then the jute sole on top of it. It is vulcanized by the heat and pressure of the mold, and presto! We have the espadrille sole.
